October...what a month

October was a crazy, fun, sad, busy month
First
Sarah turned 8 months old. I say it all the time, but we love this girl. She is so close to crawling right now, she just hasn't quite figured it out yet. I don't know if I'm ready for a mobile baby yet. She actually is pretty mobile already. She rolls her way from one place to another. She sticks her tongue out all the time. She is getting cuter and cuter the older she gets. She weighs a little over 17lbs and is doing great. (I don't know where my mind went, this is Sarah at 8 months, but she didn't turn 8 months until Nov. 5th Woops!)
Then
We went to Lake Powell over Fall break. We had the best time. The weather was warm, the lake was flat and no one was on it. Riley took this picture when we stopped to look at some of the scenery. I couldn't find the camera when we were on the lake (dang it). Riley's mom and dad came with us, we also invited my dad to come, but he needed to get ready for the big deer hunt the next day. Riley's parents both got up on the wake-surfer and it was my first time throwing the rope in. I was pretty proud of myself.

Now to the sad

We got home Sunday night from our trip to Fruita and Lake Powell. Late Monday night I got a call from my brother Jesse telling me that my dad had passed away. I was shocked and sad and very grateful that I was able to speak to him the night that he died. It was his Birthday on Saturday, October 17th, he had just turned 58 years old. He died from complications with diabetes. We have had good times and bad as most families do, I am thankful that we have had a long streak of good times with my dad. He will be missed.

In loving memory of Robert Curtis Holden Oct. 17, 1951- Oct. 19, 2009

The last time that all of dad's kids were together with dad, we went down by Bluff, Ut. We had a great time exploring the beautiful area.

This is the whole family:kids, grand kids, sisters, nieces and nephew

I bought a pirate hat in the dollar section of target, and a shirt that said I love my mummy...not really sure what Sarah was, but she was still cute.
