Adventures of Spencer's swollen eye

It was very interesting last week to see how people reacted to Spencer's swollen eye. Spencer got so sick of people asking him what happened, he just kept his hand over his eye if we were ever in public. I finally put an eye patch over his eye so he wouldn't have to keep his hand over his eye. We had some pretty funny comments. Spencer's friend Hawk told his dad that he wanted to get stung by a wasp because he thought it looked so cool. We went out to dinner one night where this couple was staring at Spencer and then commenting to each other. It was driving Riley and me crazy. They probably thought we were beating him or something. She came up to me afterwards to ask what happened (probably to see if she needed to get the authorities involved). She must have been satisfied with my answer because no cops have come knocking at my door yet. Spencer wanted me to go ask his teacher to tell everyone what happened to him so he didn't have to tell everyone "a hundred times". It was pretty funny, she put him in front of the class, made him take his hand off of his eye and show everyone. Then they talked about bee sting and if any of them got stung by a bee before. It made it a lot easier for Spencer in the long run. His eye is finally back to normal. It took a full week for all the swelling to go down. So until next time he gets stung by a wasp.
